Departure Day is almost here

I can’t believe it – final planning is almost complete. All flight plans, necessary tools and expendables for “Lady Bird” our newly restored 1935 Stinson Reliant Gullwing has all been weighed, checked and tested twice and pre-packed ready for our 15th March 2007 departure.
The family necessities like clothes, camping gear and daily food have been squeezed in between the important stuff and we’ll be off on our first leg of the 6 week across Aussie flight.

Kev has checked and tested all moving parts of the Stinson – made alterations to packing and repacking. Test flown with 4 POB to Busselton and come home a very happy boy!
J
Leading up to this week has been the organization of:-
School in the Air for Sar. Collecting all her work requirements.
Locating the Farm Sitting Family. So our thanks go to Terry, Deb, Harry and Sam.
Which will enable us to leave our 135 acre beef farm and numerous pets without worrying.

We have made sure everything is in ship shape order NOW cause it wasn’t! But we’ve fixed the windmill, the electric fences and repaired the hot water valve that broke and cleaned all gutters and tidied up branches etc. Mowed the lawns – Wow the place almost looks good enough to STAY!

But No we’ll be off and away
No more cyclones they say
No more lessons today
Australia! G'day
